Kidscreen reveals 2011 award winners

Shaun the Sheep, Horrible Histories and Nickelodeon among the big winners in New York.

Kidscreen has honoured a wide range of companies at its annual awards ceremony, held on the closing night of the popular Kidscreen Summit in New York.

Aardman Animations' Shaun the Sheep walked away with four of the accolades - Best Animated Series (Kids category), Best Design, Best Animation and Best Kids Programme (Viewers' Choice). Meanwhile, Horrible Histories also performed well, scooping Best Non-Animated or Mixed Series (Kids), Best Acting and Best Writing.

Nickelodeon picked up Channel of the Year, while Cartoon Network won Best Channel Design.

Other winners included Sesame Street for Best Animated or Mixed Series in the pre-school category; Driver's Dan Story Train (Best Companion Website, Pre-school); and Pink Panther & Pals (Best Animated Series, Pre-school, Best Music and Best Directing).
