Kidz Entertainment continues to grow its portfolio - adding the rights to handle Pokemon in the Nordic and Eastern European territories.
The follows the launch of Pokemon Diamon & Pearl, which introduces new characters and adventures. While the trading card game has already arrived across Europe, a new video game on Nintendo DS and Wii consoles is also planned.
"Pokemon is such a great property," said Kidz CEO Anna Lisa McBride. "It has real longevity and staying power. It's obvious that while other properties come and go, Pokemon has an attraction that keeps it growing and building up its fanbase as well as attracting new fans all the time."
Kidz is now looking at licensing areas such as publishing, home and apparel amongst others.
Pokemon UK licensing manager Rekha Rajput added: "The Nordic territories have long been strongholds for Pokemon and there is great brand recognition in Eastern Europe. We feel that Kidz Entertainment have the structure, the resources and, most importantly, a strong understanding of the dynamics of the Pokemon brand, which will enable themm to grow the licence in these territories."
