A third series of Cbeebies show Big & Small has begun production, Kindle Entertainment has revealed.

Filming is currently taking place in Belfast until early July, with a further 26 episodes planned. This will take the total to 78 x 11-minutes.

The episodes are being co-produced with Sixteen South, with the project receiving funding from Northern Ireland Screen.

"It's fantastic to be able to revisit Big & Small's world and have the opportunity to create more laugh out loud stories for them," said Kindle's executive producer, Anne Brogan.

On top of the new series, the Big & Small live show will be touring Canada shortly. Big & Small: Happy Together has been booked into several theatres across the country and begins touring in August.

Big & Small licensees include HarperCollins, Bandai Namco, Paper Projects, C&M Licensing and Little Star Creations.

With the pre-school market being one of the most competitive in licensing, the challenges facing any newcomer to the sector are great.
