BN Licensing will be working with the licensor of brands such as Betty Boop and Popeye, King Features, in the Benelux region going forward.

Headed up by industry veteran Cyril Speijer, and his sons Robert and David, the Netherlands-based firm now has licensing and publishing duties, while it will also be responsible for King's syndication business in the territory.

"We are pleased to continue our relationship with Cyril and to welcome his sons into the operation in their new roles," said Cathleen Titus, VP of international licensing at King Features. "They bring a fresh perspective on the industry and we are confident that results will be strong over the next year."

David Speijer added: "We look forward to working together with King Features to develop new and exciting programmes for its classic properties."
