Pop star Kylie Minogue has opposed reality TV star Kylie Jenner's attempt at gaining a US trademark for the term 'Kylie'.

Jenner has filed a trademark application for the term ‘Kylie’ in connection with entertainment services and advertising services.

WIPR reports that Minogue has claimed if the US Patent and Trademark Office approves Jenner’s application, it would cause confusion among consumers between the two Kylies and dilute her brand.

KDB, the firm representing Minogue, also cited existing trademark registrations for the term ‘Kylie’ that cover entertainment services and music recordings, as Minogue owns trademarks for ‘Kylie Minogue darling’, ‘Lucky – the Kylie Minogue musical’ and ‘Kylie Minogue’.
