Ladybird acquires UK rights to Little Charley Bear

Range of titles to launch in July to tie in with broadcast of Chapman's new animation.

Ladybird Licensing has said that it is "honoured" to be the UK publishing partner for Chapman Entertainment's new pre-school animation, Little Charley Bear.

The firm will begin publishing a line of titles in July to tie in with the show, which airs on Cbeebies. These will include a sound book, little library and two board story books.

"We are honoured to be Chapman's publishing partner for this fantastic pre-school series," said Eric Huang, category publishing at Ladybird. "Little Charley Bear is great fun. The show is all about adventure, imagination and creativity - and these themes are at the heart of Ladybird books as well."

Valerie Fry, Chapman's director of licensing, added: "This is a brilliant publishing partnership. There is huge excitement around Little Charley Bear and we look forward to bringing such a high quality selection of children's pre-school books to market featuring our lovable little bear."
