Popular children's character Pingu is to be featured in a new English language training programme for pre-schoolers after a tie up between Hit Entertainment and the Linguaphone Group.
Pingu's English is Linguaphone's first character-based pre-school English language course. It is a three level course, teaching English to three to seven year olds, while also providing socialisation, numeracy and computer skills.
It includes an array of creative learning activities and exercises, with each student receiving a course pack of DVDs, study books, song and story books with CDs, plus interactive online learning materials.
"We are delighted to be working with the Linguaphone Group on this exciting and innovative licensing opportunity," said Katie Price, senior director of global publishing at Hit. "Pingu is a character that many children around the world can relate to and offers children a fun and fresh way to learn English."
Clive Sawkins, CEO of Linguaphone, added: "This course will enhance the English language competency of all young children around the world and significantly improve the potential for global communication in the coming generations."
