Licensee boost for Aardman's Timmy

Golden Bear, Cooneen, Character World, Vivid and Roy Lowe among partners for pre-school show.

Aardman Rights has secured a number of key new licensing partners for its new pre-school property Timmy Time. Currently in production, the 52 x 10-minute stop-motion animated series has been pre-bought by CBeebies in the UK for debut in 2009 and it has been picked up by Disney Channels worldwide, including the US.

In the UK, Aardman has signed Golden Bear for Timmy Time wooden toys, Cooneen Textiles for nightwear and underwear, DNC UK for tableware and drinkware, Character World for bedding, RJ Jarret for children’s footwear, Roy Lowe & Sons for children’s socks, William Lamb for children’s slippers and wellingtons and Danillo for cards and calendars.

International agents on board are Super RTL for Germany, Kidz Entertainment for Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, Haven Licensing for Australia and TF1 for France.

Vivid Imaginations has already been secured as master toy partner and will be launching products for autumn/winter 2009, while Egmont has picked up UK and Commonwealth publishing rights to Timmy Time, and Titan Magazines will be producing a monthly comic for the UK and Eire.

Aardman has also a strategic relationship with HIT Entertainment in the US, which has been expanded to include the consumer products roll-out of Timmy Time in North America in all key categories including home entertainment, toys, games, publishing, apparel and accessories. In addition, HIT is managing Aardman’s themed attractions business worldwide which include Timmy Time, alongside Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep.
