Licensee boost for Nickelodeon

Record attendance at recent licensee day underlines strength of firm's portfolio.

Nickelodeon's recent licensee event, which was held at BAFTA, drew a record attendance from partners interested to hear about the firm's 2009 strategy for its existing and new brands.

Highlights of the day included hearing about the next phase of activity for Dora the Explorer, which includes a live action movie, important new artwork and a new direction for toys and play.

There were also details on the first Wonderpets products next year, as well as the latest activity for live action series iCarly and H20.

Attendees also heard about the new Nickelodeon brand - KaiLan is the channel's first Mandarin character, scheduled to launch next year.

"We are delighted by the fantastic turnout for our event and really appreciate the steps people took to come or be represented," said Clare Piggot, VP of consumer products at Nickelodeon UK. "It was a fantastic opportunity for partners to hear about new and existing brands and how we can work together to maximise commercial opportunities in 2009."
