One of the world's largest research companies, GfK has become the latest high profile organisation to join LIMA.
Two of its group members are joining the trade body - GfK Retail & Technology UK and GfK Chart-Track.
GfK operates in over 100 countries and has some 11,000 employees. It produces insights into the way people live, think and shop, to help companies make decisions and position their businesses for the future.
GfK Retail & Technology focuses on the consumer goods market, reporting what is selling where and at what rate. It tracks over 300 different categories and is aiming to offer reporting of licensed products not covered by existing market research.
Meanwhile, GfK Chart-Track produces all the official UK industry research for the video games industry. It is currently rolling out new analysis including brand, licence and franchise data for entertainment software and gaming accessories.
"There are some incredibly exciting developments in licensing just now, especially the high rate of growth in some technology markets, such as headphones, which allow opportunities for further growth by licence holders," said Max Templeman, GfK account manager for consumer electronics at GfK RT.
"Becoming members of LIMA will allow our group of companies further scope to increase their understanding of different markets. As part of our membership of LIMA, we plan to make available some industry insight into category and product performance, so that LIMA members can start to see some hard facts on the size and growth within the different markets.
"We will also be able to offer members bespoke analysis tailored to suit particular requirements."
