Start-up online licensing business hub, Ship & Duck, has joined industry trade organisation LIMA.
The Manchester-based company is backed by serial entrepreneurs from the entertainment industry. Its aim is to make the process of getting new licensed products to market much easier and more creative.
In November, it launched its secure online Partner Platform which enables brand owners, creatives and manufacturers to collaborate more openly on new branded products. The concept is quickly gaining traction, with a dozen partners signing up in just a few weeks.
It is planning to launch a high-end ecommerce website in March.
"We have joined LIMA because it's the go-to forum for any player looking to engage in the licensing arena," explained Francois Carlot, CEO of Ship & Duck. "We also wanted to enjoy the networking and intelligence benefits the association is offering.
"From our previous experience of building licensing programmes for major gaming brands, we felt that there must be a better and more efficient way to bring products to market - and so Ship & Duck was born."
