Kelvyn Gardner, UK MD of licensing industry trade body LIMA, is to give a talk on the sector to members of the Greeting Card Association next month.
Taking place on Friday September 14th at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, the seminar is expected to attract some 75 delegates. It will cover a wide range of topics including the nuts and bolt of image licensing, the licensor and licensee perspective and the legal essentials.
Gardner will appear alongside Lucy Heavens of Juicy Lucy, Sarah Watts of Penny Kennedy and IP lawyers Margaret Briffa and Megan O'Callaghan as part of LIMA's mission to educate different business sectors about licensing.
Heavens and Watts will be explaining how they went about their successful licensing programmes and sharing tips and practical advice.
"Licensing offers a huge field of opportunity for greetings card publishers," Gardner explained. "They can aspire to become significant licensees like Gemma or Danilo, both huge names in the UK licensee fraternity. Moreover, some of the best known properties of all time come from origins in the card sector, including Care Bears, Me to You and Bang on the Door."
Tickets for the event are available through the Greeting Card Association's website.
