Limited edition Paul Frank surfboard rolls out

Firm collaborates with top US surfer to raise money for charity.

Lifestyle brand Paul Frank has collaborated with the American surfer Robert August to produce a limited edition surfboard.

The board features Paul Frank’s iconic Julius design and will only be available in a charity auction or through Paul Frank itself.

The Saban Brands property sponsored the Annual Robert August ‘Surf and Turf’ Charity Challenge in Costa Rica last month, which marked the launch of the exclusive boards.

All of the proceeds from the event (which raised more than $30,000) will be donated to CEPIA, which is a Costa Rica-based non-profit organisation that helps to improve the quality of life of children and adolescents from poor backgrounds in Costa Rica. One board was donated to CEPIA to be used in its surf education programmes, while a second board was auctioned off at the event’s closing dinner.

Additionally, Paul Frank will be a sponsor at the upcoming May 17th ‘Bring Back the Beach’ fundraiser for local ocean protection organization Heal the Bay, where one of the limited production boards will be auctioned off to supporters as part of the annual gala.

The boards will also be part of the 2nd Annual Paul Frank ‘Academy of Awesome’ tour which will take place in the summer, while a board will also be given away through Paul Frank’s website in June.

Robert August said: “We’re so proud that these boards combine great visual design and great surf performance, and we’re even prouder that they’re supporting great charities that provide social and environmental benefits at two of the best places in the world.”
