Lionsgate appoints RDA

Entertainment firm hires comms agency to promote expanding family portfolio.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has appointed children's specialist RDA Communications to handle PR for its Lionsgate Family DVD imprint.

RDA will now work across key Lionsgate Family DVD brands including Bratz, Doodlebops and Marvel animated feature film franchises.

Lionsgate has recently announced several new acquisitions to this portfolio including an agreement with Leapfrog to produce and distribute direct to DVD feature films. To date, Leapfrog's catalogue has achieved over four million unit sales in North America across just five DVD releases.

Among the Lionsgate Family titles slated for release towards the end of the year are the Marvel animated adventure Next Avengers and the first ever Bratz musical movie, Bratz Girlz Really Rock.

"Lionsgate Family is entering an exciting period of growth and we recognise the need for specialist support for these releases in a highly competitive marketplace," said Joanna Knight from Lionsgate. "RDA's experience in children's entertainment and DVD PR makes them a great fit for this area of our business."
