TV-Loonland has secured various deals within the Spanish territory for its Little Princess property - including the appointment of a local licensing agent.
On the TV front, free TV rights were licensed to TVE Spain and Cartoon Network Spain acquired the pay TV rights.
Home entertainment rights were picked up by Big Picture Entertainment, with the first DVDs due to launch in August/September.
In addition, a publishing programme will be launched in the territory this year. Among the first deals to be secured, Random House acquired the publishing rights for the TV tie-in books. Further publishing partners will be announced soon.
El Ocho Licencias y Promociones SL has been hired as the local licensing agent, with initial product launches expected in the autumn.
"We are thrilled to be teaming up with such a strong line-up of partners in making the Little Princess brand as successful in Spain as it has been in so many other territories thus far," said Justine Bannister, head of international distribution and acquisitions at TV-Loonland.
"Given the expected broadcaster support and the proven track record of our partners, we are confident that Little Princess will be on everyone's lips in Spain for 2009, and many years to come."
