Little Princess has been selected as one of three pre-school finalists in the British Animation Awards and will be competing against Charlie & Lola in 'Too Many Big Words' and Pocoyo.

The show has also been nominated in the Best Character Voice Performance category, with Jane Horrocks up against Haunted Hogmanay for Peter Capaldi and The Technical Hitch for Robert Lindsay.

Iain Harvey, producer at The Illuminated Film Company (the producer of Little Princess), said: "Receiving these British Animation Awards nominations is a fantastic start to what we hope to be a really exciting year for Little Princess. This industry recognition is a real tribute to the whole team behind our favourite Royal - they are an absolute joy and privilege to work with."

Olivier Dumont, MD of TV-Loonland, added: "To complement the beautifully animated series, we continue to develop a strong licensing programme and we look forward to further significant developments throughout 2008, including the first ever toy product ranges by Martin Yaffe."

The Awards take place on March 13th at the British Film Institute in London.
