Following the success of Gruffalo: Games, Magic Light Pictures has launched the new Gruffalo: Photo app.
The Gruffalo: Photo app encourages children and their families to explore and take photographs of the world around them and take selfies with the Gruffalo.
Using the app, children can take pictures within four exclusive Gruffalo frames and the photos can then be personalised using character stickers, phrases and artwork from The Gruffalo book.
“Gruffalo: Photo perfectly taps into the ideas of discovery and adventure which Julia and Axel’s books inspire," said Martin Pope, co-founder, Magic Light Pictures.
"With this app we want to encourage children and families to explore their surroundings and take an even greater interest in nature. We are also really excited to be able to combine outdoor engagement and discovery with modern technology.
"Safety is very important to us as well so we have taken great care to make sure that parents can keep complete control of the photos, leaving them to feel confident to let their children explore uninhibited.”
There is no way for children to tag, message, print or accidently delete photos from the app and all photographs are saved within the app, not to the devices gallery.
The release of Gruffalo: Photo comes as Forestry Commission England opens 24 woodland activity trails for The Gruffalo’s Child today. The app includes a map and directions to all of The Gruffalo’s Child trails locations.
Gruffalo: Photo is available to download exclusively via the AppStore for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and iPad Mini, priced at £1.49.
