Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products has promoted Marianne James to the new role of VP consumer products, UK & Ireland and European retail sales and marketing.

James (pictured) will now be responsible for planning, developing and implementing consumer products retail strategy, as well as achieving the department's revenue targets.

She will report to consumer products general manager and SVP EMEA & Australia, Mark Kingston, and Nickelodeon UK MD, Tina McCann.

James originally joined NVCP in 2011 as director, EMEA retail sales and marketing and pan European licensing.

"Marianne is a real asset to Nickelodeon and Viacom; able to creatively take on the challenges of the industry and discern opportunities for business growth," commented Kingston. "Already an integral member of the team, I am looking forward to seeing how she, and our business, flourishes as she takes on this new set of responsibilities."

James added: "The slate of Nickelodeon properties is a brilliant one and in my new role I look forward to working even more closely with all of the Nickelodeon UK business teams and our partners, so that we achieve all that we can in an evolving retail market."
