The first branded Marie Claire furniture store has opened its doors in Melbourne, Australia.

Talisman Licensing and The Marie Claire Group have worked together on the project, and say this is the first step to several new retail sites opening across the globe in the next three years.

Design-inspired indoor and outdoor furniture will be sold in the store.

"This project has been at the core of all of our activity on the Marie Claire brand since we began working together in 2008," said Hollie Raphael, brand director at Talisman Licensing Australia. "This first store features our full collection of indoor furniture developed with Paris and with local licensee Inside Out Living in Melbourne.

"By the time we exhibit the full indoor and outdoor collections at The Shanghai Furniture Fair this September, the concept will encompass over three dozen SKUs of finest furniture. The collection is continuously developing with seasonal additions and new categories."

A second store is due to open in North Melbourne in late August, with the plan being to develop ten stores nationwide in the next three years.
