Mark Burton has been named the managing director of NewBay Media Europe | Intent Media.

His most recent role was group publishing director at the Insurance Group of Incisive Media, where he was responsible for a wide portfolio of magazine, digital and event brands, including Post, Insurance Age and Insurance Hound.

During his time at Incisive, Burton was instrumental in launching new digital products, expanding the Insurance events portfolio into new territories and boosting subscriptions through digital corporate licences.

"Mark is an accomplished media executive with an impressive track record," said NewBay Media CEO Steve Palm.

"He is the right person to further develop our magazine, digital and event capabilities and aggressively grow our European business. I am excited to have him join our team."

Burton added: "NewBay's depth and breadth in the markets it serves offers a unique opportunity for growth and expansion.

"I am looking forward to working with the team to build on the success of the current products, and delivering the best service we can to our customers.

"This is an amazing opportunity and I can't wait to get started."

Burton takes over the position from Stuart Dinsey, who left the company in October.
