Marvel Entertainment has welcomed Dragons' Den star and owner of gift experience company Red Letter Days, Theo Paphitis to its international advisory board.
The board is made up of business leaders from key international growth markets and works with Marvel executives to explore opportunities for expanding the presence of its brand and key character franchises in international markets.
"We are honoured to have Theo join the international advisory board," said Simon Philips, president of worldwide consumer products for Marvel Entertainment and primary company liaison to the board. "He is a tremendously distinguished business leader whose depth of experience and insight into the constantly evolving retail landscape in the UK and on a global level will help further our commitment to generate growth from international markets."
Paphitis made his name buying and turning around companies including Ryman the Stationer, Contessa and La Senza lingerie chains in the UK, as well as Partners the Stationers and Stationery Box. He also served as chairman of Millwall Football Club.
He acquired Red Letter Days in 2005 in partnership with fellow Dragon, Peter Jones.
