Marvel Entertainment has expanded its partnership with Bendon Publishing for a new line of children's books, while it has also added Little, Brown Books as a licensee.

Bendon will boost its existing line of Marvel children's books with new formats for a range of properties, including Spider-man, Marvel Heroes, Super Hero Squad, Iron Man 2 and Incredible Hulk. Activity, colouring, pop-up, work and board books, plus flash cards and reward stickers will all be available.

In addition, Marvel has partnered with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers to launch Super Hero Squad and Iron Man 2 children's book publishing programmes.

The line will include novels, early readers, storybooks and activity books. From this spring, Little, Brown Books will release six Iron Man 2 titles and the first three Super Hero Squad books.

"We have found that the publishing marketplace is an enormously powerful means of attracting new and existing fans and keeping them engaged in our properties and the Marvel brand overall," said Paul Gitter, president of consumer products for North America at Marvel.
