Marvel unveils new TV division

Former Heroes and Lost producer, Jeph Loeb, to head up new team.

Marvel Entertainment has created a new television division, which will be headed up by Jeph Loeb, writer/producer on hits such as Smallville, Lost and Heroes and story writer for a number of Marvel comics.

Loeb will work alongside Dan Buckley, publisher and president of the print, animation and digital divisions of Marvel, to translate the firm's characters and stories into both live action and animated TV formats.

He will also oversee the development and distribution of live action, animated and direct to DVD series.

Alan Fine, EVP, Office of the President and chairman of Marvel Studios' creative committee, said: "[Jeph's] work in the comic book field is in a class of its own, showing his passion and talent for bringing Marvel's finest characters to life in an innovative manner."
