A raft of national press reports this morning have claimed that Mattel is close to buying Hit Entertainment.

The news broke last night in a Sky News blog by Mark Kleinman, who said that Mattel could agree to buy Hit has early as this week for around £500m.

However, 'people close to the US company' said the deal could still be delayed or collapse altogether.

Since Kleinman broke the news, various other reports have appeared in the Financial Times, Marketwatch, City AM and the Wall Street Journal among others.
