Cartoon Network Enterprises has appointed Mattel as the global master toy licensee for The Secret Saturdays, the series which follows a family of world saving adventure scientists who cross the globe on various jaunts.
According to World Screen, Mattel will be producing a wide range of toys inspired by the series including action figures, play-sets and role play items. The collection is due in autumn 2009.
"Following in the footsteps of Ben 10, The Secret Saturdays is Cartoon Network's next big original series that promises to deliver boys both on air and at retail," said Christina Miller, VP of CNE. "We are thrilled to extend our strategic partnership with Mattel to create a range of products that will capture the tone and essence of the series."
Doug Wadleigh, VP of action play marketing for Mattel Brands, added: "Cartoon Network is the premier broadcaster for boys' action programming and to partner with them on The Secret Saturdays is a big thrill for us."
