Merlin app in development

App developer DNA Interactive has teamed up with FremantleMedia to bring the Merlin brand to mobile devices.

'Merlin, the Game' will be an episodic point-and-click fantasy-adventure. Players will take control of the young Merlin to solve puzzles and complete missions

DNA is making the game on its proprietary 'Rapid Application Development tool', the Slam Engine.

Ed Blincoe, CEO of DNA Interactive, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing to iOS and Android gamers a fun, challenging and highly interactive gaming experience based on the much-loved Merlin brand.

Currently in its fourth season in the UK, Merlin has been sold to over 52 broadcasters in 183 countries, including SyFy in the United States, CTV in Canada, Network Ten in Australia, MICO in Japan and RTL in Germany. Series five is set to begin in March 2012.
