Metrostar has a psychic turn

New deal inked for greetings and giftware inspired by medium Derek Acorah.

A new line of greetings and giftware items inspired by the writing and work of psychic medium Derek Acorah will be rolled out thanks to Metrostar.

Acorah rose to fame as the star of Living TV's cult ghost-hunting show Most Haunted, for which he appeared in six series and many 'live' broadcasts.

He followed this up with Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns and his current show Paranormal Egypt. In addition to the TV work, he has sold over 250,000 books and performs a stage show to audiences of over 125,000 each year in the UK.

"When we first started working with Derek, we learned that he often receives card and gifts from people who have been touched by his message," said Metrostar's MD Claire Potter.

"Developing a greetings range inspired by this seems like the obvious next step. When someone is going through a tough time, it's sometimes hard to find the right words. We hope that this range will appeal to Derek's fans and others trying to support friends and relatives in times of difficulty or doubt."

It was while she was working at the BBC, that Claire Potter realised the power and untapped potential in television brands: ?At the time, all of the licensing focus was on pre-school and many great family or grown up series were being overlooked,? she explains.
