MTV Networks International has appointed Michael Connolly as its new SVP of consumer products.
Based in New York, Connolly - who arrives from Disney Consumer Products - takes over the role from Jean-Philippe Randisi. He will be responsible for MTVN's international consumer products operations and related global strategies, outside the US.
On top of this, Connolly will direct business operations and the management of consumer products offices in New York, Miami, Toronto, London, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Singapore, Seoul, Spain, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
"Michael's extensive international and domestic experience in merchandise planning, licensing and retail solutions across diverse lines of business, is a tremendous asset to the organisation as we continue to drive the global growth of our properties and brands through innovative partnerships and deeper collaboration amongst key stakeholders," said Pierluigi Gazzolo, COO, MTVN.
Connolly held several positions at DCP, most recently VP of marketing and seasonal merchandise, North America. Prior to this, he was VP, sales and marketing, first in the UK and then in Europe, where he delivered a 20 per cent sales increase. He is also credited with spearheading a 40 per cent back to back sales increase in the UK, propelling the market to become Disney's number one international country.
