Miles Kelly extends Discovery partnership

Discovery Enterprises International has expanded its agreement with children's publisher Miles Kelly.

The firm is previewing a total of 38 new publishing skus for three Discovery brands - Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Discovery Explore Your World - at London Book Fair this week.

Miles Kelly's full range includes Discovery Channel's second family reference encyclopaedia - Discover the Awesome World - which is due to be published in August.

An Animal Planet book series is also in the pipeline and due for launch in May. Called My Wild Life, the series will explore the lives of animals in simple and informative books that help develop reading skills and knowledge of animals. Photographs will be supported with text, jokes, activity sheets and explanations of key words.

In addition, Miles Kelly has published a complementary line of Animal Planet sticker books.

Finally, the firm will roll out a 30 book series under the Discovery Explore Your World brand, which focuses on the workings of machinery and nature. Alongside this will be a series of survival handbooks offering children an insight into how they might survive in difficult environments.

The guides will be published in September, with roll out to international markets scheduled for 2013.
