AS IT approaches its tenth anniversary, two new licensees have signed up for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Character Options will create a handheld electronic game, the first product of its kind in the UK for the iconic quiz show. The game will be launched in the first quarter of 2008 and will feature over a thousand questions.

Meanwhile, video games company Ubisoft will be creating a new title for Nintendo DS and Wii platforms.

Brand owner 2waytraffic International is preparing to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the property with a range of specially branded products. The successful game show was first seen on ITV4 on September 4th 1998 and has already been extended into various consumer product areas.

The firm will be meeting with licensees at Brand Licensing Europe with a view to launching a line of brand products for next autumn.

“Ten years is a terrific landmark to reach and one we couldn’t let pass without a celebration,” said Tina-Louise Phipps, director of consumer product licensing. “As well as creating commemorative and collectable versions of our existing range, we’re also looking to launch brand new products, so we’re keen to talk to new licensees with creative ideas.”
