MIPCOM 09: Kidz Bop set for growth

US kids' music brand secures first deal as part of international expansion strategy.

US kids' music brand Kidz Bop has inked a deal with marketing and merchandising firm Glomail which will see it arrive in South Africa this December.

Through the partnership, Glomail will secure direct response TV advertising for the brand on major South African broadcasters, as well as distribute the music series to traditional and online retailers.

Kidz Bop is also currently in talks with several other international partners to roll the brand out to additional territories in 2010 and beyond.

"Kids everywhere love music and Kidz Bop recognises the important role music plays in the lives of children," said Liz Nealon, general manager at Kidz Bop. "Given the brand's enormous success across various media platforms in the US, we are excited to work with leading markets to develop customised music programmes based on specific regional tastes to share the power of music with even more kids and families."
