Discovery Enterprises has formed a new international group, which will aim to maximise sales opportunities with third party broadcasters and licensees by streamlining access to the firm’s worldwide brands and content.
Caleb Weinstein, a former senior VP at New Line Cinema, has been appointed to head up the Discovery Enterprises International division.
The team, which will partner with local clients through regional offices in London, Munich, Singapore and Miami and Discovery’s global HQ in Maryland, is launching its revitalised program sales and licensing activities at MIPTV this week.
Weinstein will oversee the new team with responsibility for Discovery’s international program and private networks sales, co-financing, consumer products and licensing strategies.
“Discovery’s rich library of content and ability to communicate extraordinary stories in an exciting, passionate and truthful manner is unparalleled in the industry,” Weinstein said. “The Enterprises group is committed to working in close coordination with Discovery’s development and production teams around the world in order to offer partners a vast array of innovative program sales, co-financing and licensing opportunities.”
