RDF Kids & Family has signed up its first TV deals for potential next big thing Waybuloo at the MIPTV marketplace.
Due to debut on Cbeebies in the UK in May, ABC TV Australia has now picked up the show to go on air later this year. RDF has also licensed the DVD rights for Australia and New Zealand to ABC Enterprises.
Canadian co-production partner Decode Enterprises holds the Canadian distribution rights to Waybuloo and has licensed it to Treehouse TV.
BBC Worldwide has already acquired Waybuloo for the international version of the Cbeebies channel, which currently reaches 8.9 million homes around the world.
"We are delighted to be welcoming ABC, Treehouse TV and Cbeebies international on board for Waybuloo and look forward to introducing the rest of the world to the Piplings this MIPTV," said Henrietta Hurford-Jones, director of international kids and family at RDF.
RDF will be officially launching Waybuloo to the international market at a special event in Cannes this evening (March 31st), with buyers getting to see footage from the new series for the first time.
