MTV Networks International has signed agreements with multiple international broadcast partners across Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America, to air its top rated show The Penguins of Madagascar.

Recently launched for international syndication, The Penguins of Madagascar is based on the characters from Dreamworks Animations' films Madagascar and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. Together, they grossed over $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office.

More than 40 programme sales deals have been closed in all major markets including China, Brazil, France, Italy, Hong Kong, Mexico, Middle East, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Spain and the UK.

"The Penguins of Madagascar is the result of a fruitful and long-term partnership between Nickelodeon and Dreamworks Animation," said Steve Grieder, executive VP, Nickelodeon and programme sales, MTVNI. "As the most watched premiere ever in Nickelodeon history, we knew immediately that we had a hit show on our hands and I'm really thrilled to be extending the magic, through our international broadcast partners, to kids and animation lovers everywhere around the world."
