Art and crafts children's TV show Mister Maker is getting a brand new TV series.

Mister Maker Around The World, a 26x19' episode series, will go into production this spring for transmission on CBeebies in 2014.

Mister Maker will visit children in various countries to learn about different art and cultures. He will travel to Sydney, Hong Kong, Cape Town, Rio and more.

Mister Maker is a global hit. It's devised to inspire children to have a go at making things, and has had five previous series boasting over 500 craft projects and creations.

The show is broadcast in over 100 countries worldwide and crowds turn up in their thousands to see Mister Maker's show in South Africa, Australia and Asia.

Controller of CBeebies, Kay Benbow, said: “Sending Mister Maker around the world is a brilliant opportunity to harness his extraordinary global popularity and take children at home on a journey, introducing them to different cultures and opening our young viewers eyes to the world around them.”

Executive Producer for The Foundation, Vanessa Hill, added: “Mister Maker loves to find arty inspiration from all over the place, so he's going to visit mini makers all around the world, finding new ideas for great makes and inspiring kids everywhere to give it a go and make it themselves."

The series producer is Driana Jones, the director is Peter Eyre and the executive producers are Vanessa Hill (The Foundation) and Michael Towner (CBeebies). The series was commissioned by the controller of CBeebies, Kay Benbow. 

Mister Maker Around The World will consist of 25 episodes plus a Christmas Special.

Zodiak Kids holds all international broadcast, licensing and merchandising rights to Mister Maker Around The World.
