Glu Mobile will be developing and publishing a new game to launch in conjunction with Dreamworks' March 2009 film release Monsters vs Aliens.
The film will apparently reinvent the classic 1950s monster movie into an irreverent modern day action comedy.
It also marks the second time Glu and Dreamworks have worked together. Glu is also currently developing the mobile game for Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, which is due to launch alongside the film in November.
"We're excited to build on our relationship with Dreamworks to bring the mobile game based on this highly anticipated film to mobile gamers worldwide," said Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing at Glu Mobile.
"The movie plot lends itself perfectly for a mobile game and our production team is working closely with the Dreamworks team to bring the story and monstrously funny characters to mobile."
Chris Hewish, head of interactive for Dreamworks Animation, added: "Glu's demonstrated success as a world class developer and global publisher make then the ideal partner to bring Monsters vs Aliens to mobile. We're pleased to expand upon our relationship to create a mobile game based on this valuable property."
