Monty Python goes global with CPLG

The territories included in the new deal include France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy and Canada. This adds to an existing representation deal with Stella Projects that covers Australia and New Zealand.

The deal comes at a time when the brand is celebrating its 40th anniversary, leading to range of new activity. Sony is due to release a DVD box-set and is also releasing Monty Python and the HOly Grail: The Immaculate Edition.

A one-off stage show starring Eric Idol hits London's Royal Albert Hall on October 23rd and a new Python documentary is also due for theatrical and DVD release later this year, dollowed by TV broadcast around the world.

Mark Hurry, PPCE's legal and commercial director commented: "Python is absolutely huge at present adn is now a truly global brand - we have chosen CPLG as the perfect partner to drive Python forward across the world."
