Global toy firm, Moose Toys is looking to drive the success of its hit collectables brand with the launch of its first Shopkins app.
Called Shopkins: Welcome to Shopville, the app allows fans to explore the fictional habitat of its collectable characters as well as play a series of mini games.
The app – that features five shops for fans to play among – has been designed and launched in response to growing consumer demand for further Shopkins brand engagement.
“Shopkins is a global phenomenon with a passionate fan base and the hottest collectable around,” said Paul Solomon, co-CEO of Moose Toys.
“Our fans wanted a Shopkins App and we are thrilled to deliver that in a way that further brings Shopville to life.”
Shopville visitors can shop in the Small Mart, stock up on treats at the Candy Shop, help sort the Shopkins in the Homewares store, bake a cupcake in the Cupcake Shop and discover a new, secret store.
Developed by Australian app creators Mighty Kingdom, Welcome to Shopville has already received half a million downloads and 1.8 million play sessions since it launched on October 18th.
It is currently the number one kids’ app in the App store in 11 countries.
Described by those close to the brand as a ‘global phenomenon,’ Shopkins has already seen over 100 million characters sold to date worldwide, while in the US alone nine out of the top 50 best-selling toys were Shopkins items for August 2015.
