Mr Bean back on ITV

Original and classic series licensed to ITV3 in run up to 20th anniversary.

Tiger Aspect Productions has licensed the TV rights to the original and classic series of Mr Bean to ITV3, as the hype continues to build for the character's 20th anniversary in 2010.

The series - which has not been shown on the ITV network since 1999 - was first broadcast on January 1st 1990 and went on to achieve an audience of 19 million at its peak.

The 14 episodes will be broadcast on ITV3 from January 2010.

"Mr Bean is one of the nation's most popular and endearing comedy characters and we're thrilled to be welcoming him onto ITV3 in his 20th anniversary year," said Emma Tennant, ITV controller of digital channels.
