Tiger Aspect's Mr Bean is getting its 20th anniversary year off to a strong start, with licensing agents The Sharpe Company (US) and RDF Rights (UK) bringing a number of new partners on board to raise the brand's profile further.
Sharpe has just signed a deal with Egencie to develop a Mr Bean social website and online virtual world, including Bean web games and activities. In addition, Pollard Games will continue its worldwide licence for scratch card lottery games and new licensee, Homage Clothing, will produce Mr Bean t-shirts for the US market.
RDF Rights, meanwhile, has secured a deal with Somerbond to produce a range of male adult apparel, with launch proposed for autumn/winter 2010.
A deal has also been signed with Trend Import to develop a range of Mr Bean plush, glass, ceramic products and postcards in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
RDFR has also begun discussions with potential licensing agents in Australia and Brazil, with the view to developing local licensing programmes.
Mr Bean returned to TV screens in January on ITV3.
"Tiger Aspect is working closely with RDFR and Sharpe to bring in new deals over a wide range of product areas which reflect the continuing appeal and unique humour of the Mr Bean brand over the last 20 years," said Katherine Senior, executive producer of Mr Bean.
