Mr Bean coffee shops to open in China

Tiger Aspect strikes deal for six outlets in Shanghai, with a further 12 planned for 2012.

The Mr Bean brand is to be used on a chain of coffee shops opening in China later this year and in 2012.

Tiger Aspect Productions is working with Shanghai Franchise Enterprise Management Services Company, which has licensed the rights to use the Mr Bean brand name.

The partership will see six coffee shops opening this year in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, with a further 12 planned for 2012.

The outlets will be branded with the Mr Bean character and will be themed to reflect the franchise's humour. There are also plans to sell merchandise through the shops.

"We are extremely pleased to move into this new area of business with SFC and are looking forward to increasing awareness of Mr Bean in China through the network of coffee shops," said Katherine Senior, execuive producer of Mr Bean.
