A fresh line of merchandise based on popular kids’ book series The Little Prince will arrive in 2013, courtesy of Mudpuppy.
The company – a division of Galison Publishing – struck a deal with Lawless Entertainment to produce the official licensed merchandise.
Mudpuppy will develop puzzles, a locked diary, coloured pencils, stencils and more using art from The Little Prince. Early products will arrive in the US in January 2013 and May 2013 in the UK, with extra items launching in August in the US and December in the UK, Australia and New Zealand next year.
The Little Prince was first published in 1943 and is the most read and translated book in the French language.
Mudpuppy has 20 years of expertise in designing children’s gifts based on artwork from kids’ literature.
“At Mudpuppy we pride ourselves on creating award winning toys, puzzles and games. We are thrilled to be working with the classic imagery and story of The Little Prince and we hope to enable another generation to find new ways to enjoy this wonderful tale," said Bill Miller, president of Galison/Mudpuppy.
Cathy Malatesta, president of Lawless Entertainment, added: “Lawless Entertainment is delighted to see the continued expansion of The Little Prince throughout the US, the UK, Australia and New Zealand.”
Eric Edery, partner at Method Films and MD at Propertiz Licensing, commented: “We are proud to work with this very creative company. We believe this is the beginning of a great story between The Little Prince and Mudpuppy.”
