Time spent in licensing industry:
At least ten years that I can remember.
First job in licensing:
Working for Richard Hollis at the BBC.
What were your responsibilities?
I shared an office with Charlie Donaldson, Rob Wijeratna and Richard Mintz so the word 'responsible' never really came up in conversation.
Current job in licensing:
Licensing director for Cartoon Network.
What are your responsibilities?
Finding ways to build brands and generate income from the Cartoon Network output. I look after the UK, Scandinavia, Benelux and Israel.
What is your greatest achievement so far?
Persuading a snow plough driver to take me from the Harrogate Toy Fair to Leeds so I didn't miss my flight to Amsterdam.
What is the best licence you have worked on so far in your career?
I've been very lucky; I worked at BBC when Teletubbies launched, I also had Beyblade and now I have Ben 10 at Cartoon Network. All are great to work on.
What licence would you most like to have in your portfolio?
Scottish Tourist Board (with a few invitations to shoot and fish).
If you could choose your dream job in licensing, what would it be and why?
Haven't found it yet, but it will involve being paid huge amounts of money for doing very little (my current boss claims this is what I do already!)
What's the best thing about working in the licensing industry?
The best thing is the people - I have made many good friends over the years.
