Universal Studios Home Entertainment Canada and Nelvana Enterprises have inked a seven-year DVD sales deal.
Universal will now manufacture, market and sell five properties on DVD for Nelvana in Canada, including Jane and the Dragon, Grossology, Di-Gata Defenders, Ruby Gloom (pictured) and a feature length Franklin movie.
In all, the deal represents more than 150 episodes of some of Nelvana's premier properties.
"This agreement perfectly combines the premier marketing and distribution infrastructure of one of the world's most successful media companies with a number of the world's top quality youth entertainment brands," said Steve Dorman, executive VP and MD of Universal Studios Home Entertainment Canada.
"Nelvana has a fantastic history of producing quality entertainment that's enjoyed worldwide. It's a thrill for us to represent them in the Canadian DVD marketplace."
Peter Maule, VP of worldwide home entertainment and digital media at Nelvana, added: "We are delighted to begin our partnership with Universal."
