Nerds Corps Entertainment is continuing to build up the Slugterra property across the globe, with new episodes, licensing deals and international agents coming on board.

The firm's distribution arm has signed up new free-to-air broadcasters, while the licensing arm has locked down two new agents and several new merchandise deals.

New episodes are also due to launch on Disney XD in the US this autumn.

Jakks Pacific will begin to roll out its toy line in the US from this month, starting with collectable slugs and blasters with transforming darts. To coincide with the toy launch, Shout Factory is releasing Slugterra: Return of the Shane Gang, the first DVD.

New US deals include Hybrid Apparel for t-shirts and Mad Dog Concepts for sleepwear. In addition, Slugterra entered the App Store for the first time in December with a new game for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch called Slug It Out.

New agent additions include Character Licensing and Merchandising in South Africa and Brand Is Real in israel.

Additionally, Beyond Home Entertainment has acquired the home video rights to the series in Australia and New Zealand, while in Latin America, Slugterra's licensing agent CPL is currently closing deals for back to school, stickers, albums and trading cards.

Licensing agents now representing the brand include CPLG (UK), Haven Licensing (Australia), Elastic Rights (Spain, Portugal, France, Greece and Turkey), CPL (Latin America) and Megalicense (Russia).

"The strategy behind the licensing and merchandising programme for Slugterra is calculated and based on what's current and relevant with kids today," said Juli Boylan, head of consumer products at Nerd Corps. "Our vision is to develop a programme that allows the property to build and sustain itself for many years to come."
