A Netflix launch in Australia is 'imminent', reports The Australian.
The newspaper has claimed sources confirmed Netflix was 'active' in the market and that a launch in the region was 'imminent'.
The decision to launch in the territory is believed to be down to the 20,000 Australians currently bypassing geo-blocking to subscribe to the service.
Netflix has been active recently buying Australian content for its international services and has already commissioned its first Netflix-only series from Australia, a spin-off from the hit kids' series H2O: Just Add Water called Mako's Mermaids.
A Netflix spokesperson said: "At this point we have not announced any further details about our international expansion."
