Marvel Studios has named Douglas Finberg as its new executive vice president of international marketing.
Finberg arrives at the company from Paramount Pictures where he was senior VP of international marketing, while prior to this he helped launch the international theatrical division of Dreamworks.
At Marvel, he will be responsible for developing and overseeing the worldwide marketing campaigns for the studio's upcoming film slate, including Iron Man 2, Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America and The Avengers.
"Doug's strong international experience in establishing entertainment franchises, coupled with his first hand knowledge of Paramount's marketing and distribution operations, will be of enormous benefit to Marvel as we bring our films to the global marketplace," said Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios.
"In just a short time, Marvel Studios has been established as a premier film studio for blockbuster entertainment," added Finberg. "I'm looking forward to being part of that continued success and leveraging the Marvel characters' strength on a worldwide basis."
