Chorion's new pre-school show Olivia is continuing to attract attention from major broadcasters, with the firm signing a number of new TV deals.

Following a successful debut on Nickelodeon in the US, Five in the UK, ABC Australia and TF1 France, Nickelodeon International has picked up the show for Italy and its channels in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe and South Africa.

Disney Channel Japan has also secured broadcast rights to Olivia, along with RTP Portugal, TG4 Ireland, Happy TV in Serbia and RTV in Slovenia.

These deals mean that Olivia is set to air in over 120 territories this year.

"Olivia's appeal is universal and we are excited to introduce her to new audiences worldwide," said Geraint Marsh, senior VP of TV sales at Chorion.

The licensing programme is also strengthening. Spin Master is on board as global master toy partner and is developing a range of pre-school toys for release in autumn 2010. TF1 has also picked up merchandising and licensing rights to the property in France, while Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has been appointed as international DVD partner outside of the US.

Since going private last year, Chorion has quietly been building up its portfolio. Now it is ready to shout from the rooftops about its forthcoming line-up, which includes more Noddy activity, as well as the launch of Mr Men and Famous Five projects.
