After the success of the new CG animated series of Thomas & Friends, Hit Entertainment is planning a number of other digital extensions to mark the brand's 65th birthday.
First up, the property's website has undergone a complete redesign. For the first time, the site includes a section that can be personalised for each visitor, as well as new activities and videos in the CG art style and an enhanced parents section.
New navigation directs users to enhanced areas featuring the engines, activities and games. The homepage also includes a video player showcasing the latest and classic Thomas & Friends videos, with CG content and exclusive online interstitials.
The customisable area - My Station - allows visitors to add in their favourite characters and videos, while also providing access to exclusive content and activities.
Another enhancement is the new Engine Depot which highlights the breadth of Thomas' world and features 90 characters, each of which has their own page with descriptions and facts.
There is also a new mobile landing page, which provides links to the Thomas & Friends Game Pack mobile application.
"Hit continually looks for new ways to deliver the Thomas experience to kids and families," said Natasha Fishman, SVP, global brand management and digital media at Hit Entertainment. "We are excited to continue on our path of expanding Thomas further within the digital space."
