The new look Garfield is gaining momentum in the UK, with the hit show on Boomerang meaning that licensees are receiving a solid reception at retail for a number of ranges.

The CGI TV show launched on the channel in May and consistently ranks in the top three shows on the network. Now, a wide range of licensed product is hitting retail.

Garfield designs by Silverknit have generated orders from across the retail spectrum; Dunnes are stocking two ladies nightwear ranges; while New Look and Mackays have confirmed an ongoing commitment for Garfield hotpants.

In addition to its childrenswear, Blues is also targeting females with a range of essentials in George at Asda.

Meanwhile, Knitmania has launched male t-shirts in Top Man, with further fashion retailers coming on board later this year.

Ty Beanies has renewed its Garfield licence, while new partner RSW International is taking the brand into a fresh market with the development of a line of pet accessories.

Fox L&M is now actively looking to sign new partners across gifts, stationery, health and beauty.
